This recently (2001) built to American standards home is
constructed with solid brick walls (measuring 20 inches in
thickness) and has Spanish tile floors and a tile roof.
All beams and ceilings are constructed of tropical hardwood.
There are 658 sq. meters (6580 sq. ft.) under roof. The style of
the house is Spanish Territorial/Colonial. It is very spacious
and grand! There are two large bedrooms in suite, 2.5 bathrooms,
and a 'mirador' which overlooks all (to be reached by spiral
staircase of hardwood)........... A 2 car carport,
workroom......... the large utility and open kitchen areas have
countertops of black marble. The kitchen with its custom cabinets
of tropical hardwoods has a glass top stove in the cooking and
snack island. The entry and living rooms boast large and open
arches. In a corner of the living room is a beehive fireplace
....... The office is joined by an arch to the gymnasium. This
opens onto a large master bathroom with bidet, jaccuzzi and
shower stall......This wing of the house is private, the other
bedroom, also in suite, is located on the other side of an inside
garden. The enclosed interior garden is planted with palm trees
and tropical plants. There are two gallerias (porches), one at
the entrance and the other huge one in the rear for dancing,
parties, lounging in the hammock, etc. All cabinetry (cupboards,
desks, sewing cabinet, etc) and doors are handmade solid tropical
hardwood. There are many overhead fans and the house is
heated/cooled by 6 American made heat pump/ air conditioners so
that inside temperature is always comfortable. All of the large
windows are double paned glass and screened..............

Domestic water comes from a 70 meter (210 ft.) deep well that
flows about 70 gallons per minute. It is perhaps the purest and
sweetest water in the world.......... Electrical power comes
through the privately owned three phase power transformer, and
the average cost per month (for both the main house and the two
caretaker's cottages, plus pumping well water, is less than
$100. The property tax for the entire 46 acre property , which
includes also two caretaker cottages, is unbelievable only $20
annually! The extremely low cost of labor, taxes and energy
provide Paraguayan residents with the world’s lowest cost of
living.

The property also has about one hectare ( 2 acres) planted with
an eighty year old variety of coffee tree growing beneath the
shade of ancient and huge Timbo trees. This coffee is considered
to be one of the best in the world. It also has large plantings
of many producing tropical fruit trees, mangoes, guavas, avocados,
all varieties of citrus, litchi, bananas, plus many coconut palms.
There is TV, phone, and internet service as well as intercom from
the house to the large galleria.
The hidden and park-like setting of the home is surrounded by
rare palms and flowering trees from all over the world.
All of the property is completely fenced with concrete posts.
There are walk in aviaries which house toucans, macaws, and
parrots. Wild howler monkeys live in the trees around the house.
They are quite tame, often howling, and always begging for a
handout. A real paradise for nature lovers.
